Both Brian and Mark combined have over 50 years of experience in the sales world. Currently they are both Professors at Virginia Tech with Brian being the Director and Mark the Associate Director of the Virginia Tech Sales Center.

Brian K. Collins – Professor of Practice – VT Sales Center
Brian K. Collins is a Professor of Practice in Sales at Virginia Tech, where he serves as Director of the Virginia Tech Sales Center, Director of the Sales Competition Team, and Assistant Department Head for Marketing. Before joining Virginia Tech, Brian spent more than 20 years in executive sales leadership roles across banking, insurance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial services. He is the co-founder of C&M Sales Training, combining over 50 years of sales expertise with partner Mark Michalisin to help organizations build high-performing sales teams. Brian is an award-winning educator, recipient of the 2026 Sales Educator of the Year Award, and has helped establish Virginia Tech as one of the nation’s premier sales programs.

Mark Michalisin – Associate Professor of Practice, Associate Director – VT Sales Center
Mark has over 25 years of professional hands-on experience in the B2B sales world. Mark graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York with both his BA and MBA and has held numerous sales leadership positions in marketing, sales management and business development. In his time with SCA Tissue and Morcon, Mark developed customer bases both domestically and internationally utilizing his relationship building and sales expertise.
In his role as Associate Professor of Practice and Associate Director of the VT Sales Center, Mark has taught courses in Principles of Professional Selling, Sales Technology, Careers in Marketing and Marketing Channels and Logistics. He works closely with the students to competeat national collegiate sales competitions where the students have achieved both individual and team success. While in this role, Virginia Tech has created a Professional Sales Major here at Virginia Tech.
With his colleague Brian Collins, they have created C&M Sales Training to share over 50 years combined sales training and go to market strategies for those individuals looking to sharpen their sales skills or just starting out on their sales career.

Due to the relationship between C&M Sales Training and Virginia Tech, the company has the ability to hold classes at one of the Virginia Tech campuses in Northern VA. The rental of the facilities is based upon availability and locking in a training time as soon as possible is encouraged. The facilities can be rented at a reduced cost, and availability is based on time of week and year. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are generally easier to accommodate.
